I am grateful for another year to recognize Mother's Day. I do not always feel fullness of joy since Charlotte's stillbirth in 2013. However, this year I am joyful! Not because we have Jr who is 16 months but because I have gained a closer relationship with God over the last few years! So, today, I wanted to just do some "Latonia" stuff! Lol! Today, I decided to make cookies and a candle. I am artsy fartsy, so I love to bake and make crafts (when I can). The cookies I tried were from a recipe I found on Pinterest (https://pin.it/18MdmcX). I have a gluten sensitivity, so these sounded wonderful to try! They look great and smell INCREDIBLE coming out the oven! I did not put walnuts in it, but I plan to next time as when I tasted them, they taste like banana bread without walnuts (I love banana bread with walnuts). These are a great alternative as I still cannot master making banana bread as a loaf. Lol!
The candle is in dedication to my daughter and grandmother (both named Charlotte). I am using a special wax blend from The Wooden Wick Co. Their Coco Apricot Creme wax. I added a blend of two essential oils: bergamot and ylang ylang. I read how these are great aromatherapy scents to uplift, promote those feelings of joy and happiness. I am excited as I plan to do more candles later. I entitled this blend, "Joy In The Morning" based on Psalm 30:5. Although I have not burned the candle, the scent from the candle itself smells amazing! I smile and think of sunshine on a peaceful island.
I encourage you to do something creative and take some time to be you this weekend!
My prayer for all women this Mother's Day weekend:
God, I come to in humility and boldness! I pray you forgive me of all sins according to your promise of faithfulness to forgive. I ask that you empower and encourage all women this season. Help them to recognize, as I have, that we have great power and authority in Your Kingdom! You do not demote. You only promote! You do not decline or decrease. You only approve and increase! Help us to walk according to your Word and remain in your will so that we gain the protection, promotion, provision, and all promises! Anyone who is sick or suffering with any weaknesses, I declare healing according to their faith and the power extended in this prayer! I pray as the year goes on, more women (and the world) will begin to see You for who You really are! In Jesus Name, Amen!
I love you!
Be sure to subscribe to get your free journal OR join the private FB group (it just launched but those who will join will do so in due season)!
Question: How are you celebrating Mother's Day? Leave a comment below or post in the FB group. Even if you do not feel like celebrating, that is ok too! I still love you and I am proud of you! (Virtual hugs)
I desire to help encourage and support women during their time of trying to conceive and if they experience the tragedy of stillbirth. When I experienced stillbirth, the best advice I received: Be Human. I hope to help Christian women recognize the importance of being human in order to process our emotions. When we admit we are weak, God is able to be faithful and be God. If we be human, then God can be God.
